HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Telstar\Fable\Path To make this work in Windows NT/2000/XP, one must manually edit a registry value that the installer fails to create.

To obtain the music data (if there actually is music data to be found), it seems likely that one would either have to track down an actual Fable cd, or be fortunate enough to come across an image with the audio tracks intact.Ĭoncerning speech, I was only able to get the game to work with speech by installing the windows version. It is possible that the music for this game was contained in audio tracks alongside the data track, rather than being encoded within a music data file. I have been unable to find any sort of music data file on the cd I have. I have not been able to find any way to get the dos version of Fable to run with speech or music, despite having access to the speech data. ĭid all that and tried all that, but i still can't save a game! We are proud to be the only site that offers these videos. Both the into and the outro are included in the archive. I downloaded the game a couple days ago and no sound so i downloaded it again and i get sound effects but are there suppose to be voices when the characters are talking or are there suppose to be subtitles?

The music has been removed from the archive, but the sounds are included (including the sounds of the scenery animations, like climbing squirrels and screeching birds). Then just restart the game, and you'll see the dialogue from the first scene.

So, in order to show the dialogues as text you need to press Enter to get into the Game Options. This is because the game is meant to include speech. When the game starts for the first time, there will be no visible dialogues. The game will freeze in DOSBox, unless you enhance the cycles to 6000+ (CTRL+F12)!
